Where do all the neighborhood squirrels and rabbits will die?

I never saw a dead rabbit or squirrel in my garden, but we have many in our region. The only time I see a dead animal is when it is road kill. Where are the animals that are sent when die of old age? I think they are not under the bridge, because that is where they all live.
